World War II Victory Medal
editThe infobox for this article includes a graphic for the World War II Victory Medal. No authority is cited. Before deleting it, however, I'd like to ask if there is any authority for the award of this medal to a unit, even if all the individuals in the unit are entitled to the medal.--Lineagegeek (talk) 23:42, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
- I'll remove this on my next visit. The Wiki article on the medal does not mention a streamer or award to a unit snd neither Maurer, Maurer, ed. (1983) [1961]. Air Force Combat Units of World War II (PDF) (reprint ed.). Washington, DC: Office of Air Force History. ISBN 0-912799-02-1., Maurer, Maurer, ed. (1982) [1969]. Combat Squadrons of the Air Force, World War II (PDF) (reprint ed.). Washington, DC: Office of Air Force History. ISBN 0-405-12194-6., nor Ravenstein, Charles A. (1984). Air Force Combat Wings, Lineage & Honors Histories 1947-1977 (PDF). Washington, DC: Office of Air Force History. ISBN 0-912799-12-9. lists it among unit campaign awards.
