Title

edit

The definition of "Pogrom" is An organized massacre of a particular ethnic group. hence, its totally insane to name this article as 1989 Bangladesh Pogroms as reportedly nobody was killed in this incident. --Zayeem (talk) 12:44, 1 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

The Wikipedia says, A pogrom (Russian: погро́м) is a violent mob attack generally against Jews, and often condoned by the forces of law, characterized by killings and/or destruction of homes and properties, businesses, and religious centers. See pogrom. Human casualty, therefore, is not a necessary condition. Moreover, the incident has been described as pogrom by scholar A. J. Kamra. BengaliHindu (talk) 08:52, 2 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Misleading references

edit

The book The Prolonged Partition and its Pogroms: Testimonies on Violence Against Hindus in East Bengal 1946-64 doesn't seem to have discussed about the topic. As the title suggests, it talks about the events occurring between 1946-64 but the subject of the article is about the events in 1989. Besides, the writer doesn't seem to be a notable scholar, how his book can be referenced in a controversial topic like this?? --Zayeem (talk) 14:16, 3 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
