- 1993 Danish regional elections → 1993 Danish local elections
- 1997 Danish regional elections → 1997 Danish local elections
- 2001 Danish regional elections → 2001 Danish local elections
– Regions of Denmark is the article on the public sector administrative regions of Denmark that were not formed before 1 January 2007 after the counties of Denmark (see article) were abolished. To avoid a misunderstanding of the situation before and after 1 January 2007, and to stress that there is talk of public sector administrative entities, not geographical or historical parts of Denmark, the election articles on Wikipedia from the first elections to the newly formed regions of Denmark, and to the - for the most part - newly formed municipalities in Denmark are called: Danish local elections, 2005 + 2009, etc. Elections to the municipalities and regions and before the first election to the regions in 2005 to the counties takes place on the same day. The only exception I could find was in 1935 (Danish regional elections, 1935) when only county elections took place. I have therefore left the title the word "regional" for the article on that year, because as far as I know, only county council elections were held, and no parish council elections. Stands to be corrected perhaps. In Danish language Wikipedia the name of the articles are da:Kommunal- og regionsrådsvalg, 2005 etc., in English literally : "Municipal and Regional council elections, 2005", etc. With elections taking place mostly on the same date for parishes (more than 2,000 entities), municipalities (1965:1,345 entities), and the administrative, political layer above them, and to avoid misunderstanding about when the administrative public sector regions were set up, namely 1 January 2007, it would be practical to rename the articles "Danish local elections, (year)", or perhaps use the direct translation of the name of the Danish Wikipedia articles ("Municipal and Regional council elections, 2005", etc.). No problem with me. Bornsommer (talk) 05:29, 30 November 2018 (UTC)
- Comment The moves should be to 1993 Danish local elections etc as per the recent change to the naming convention for elections. Number 57 09:58, 30 November 2018 (UTC)
- I agree. The important change is "local", so as not to be confused as to when the Regions of Denmark were formed. That was and is my point. The template has it correct:it says "Local elections", but when clicking the year, the articles were called: Danish regional (sic) elections, (year).--Bornsommer (talk) 12:02, 30 November 2018 (UTC)
- Comment TheSandBot has moved these pages in line with the naming conventions mentioned above, I've fixed this RM to allow for discussion to continue on whether "regional" should be changed to "local". Iffy★Chat -- 10:57, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
- Support moving from "regional" to "local" to avoid subdivision confusion. bd2412 T 03:42, 8 December 2018 (UTC)
