Stage lengths
editThe full tour route has now been announced. See here. As a result, several of the stage lengths need adjusting. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 20:11, 29 May 2013 (UTC)
- The route on the official site still has the stage lengths we already have here fwiw. I have no idea which is going to be more accurate at this stage - I decided not to press the Save page button after I'd changed them all :-)
- There's no rush to change them - we should definitely wait for the official TDF website to catch up. --Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 21:06, 29 May 2013 (UTC)
Stage type
editWhere did you get the info about them? Stage 7 is flat and stage 16 is mountain as listed in race regulations which are available on official website.
- This comment is correct, see the rules, article 25b (which refers to the table in article 22). I'll change the table in our article. --EdgeNavidad (Talk · Contribs) 08:15, 5 July 2013 (UTC)
- The stage types have been reverted, without comments. However, the rules as I gave above are clear. Also, Sagan received 45 points for winning stage 7, which shows it is a flat stage, not a hilly stage (where 30 points would be given). I will put the correct types back. --EdgeNavidad (Talk · Contribs) 17:14, 6 July 2013 (UTC)
- Why does this keep getting reverted. Stage 7 must have been flat since Sagan got 45 points for winning it.Nigej 16:03, 15 July 2013 (UTC)
- I must confess to being equally confused and will endeavour to get this sorted. Unfortunately, the TDF website is dynamic and the page on which the route was announced in June has now been updated as the tour progresses. At present I am unable to find a source which confirms the status of each stage but will keep looking. I certainly recall, that when the route was announced, I was surprised that Stage 7 was a "Flat" stage as it contained a Cat 2 climb. I have a copy of "Mapping le Tour" by Ellis Bacon, which includes details of the 2013 tour which shows Stages 7 and 14 as flat, although Stage 16 is described as "hilly". For the time being, I have corrected the article to show this as the situation. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 06:54, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
- French Wikipedia still summarises the race as having seven flat stages (étapes de plaine) and five hilly stages (étapes accidentées), so they are just as confused. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 07:00, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
Checking the rule book as linked above Article 25(b) specifies that the Flat stages are those with coefficient 1 the table on page 12 shows this to be Stages 1, 5, 6, 7, 10, 12, 13 and 21. Medium Mountain stages are those with coefficient 2 and 3 - the table shows this to be Stages 2, 3 and 14. Mountain stages are those with coefficient 4 and 5 - the table shows this to be Stages 8, 9, 15, 16, 18, 19, 20. So we are almost right but we need to change today's stage from medium mountain to mountain. (P.S. there is a typo in the english language version of Article 25(b) that suggests coefficeint 3 stages are high mountain stages. This is not the case and the french language version in the rule book is correct here.Andrewdpcotton (talk) 08:19, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
- So Stage 14 should be shown as hilly rather than flat. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 10:39, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
- I see that the TDF homepage still says: "These stages have the following profiles: 7 flat stages, 5 hilly stages, 6 mountain stages" so even they are confused! -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 10:45, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
- Website is not an official document. Everything should be according to rules. Trentin was given 30 points for stage 14 so it confirms that it's a hilly stage. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.163.249.199 (talk) 13:34, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
- Agreed have changed 14 to medium mountain.Andrewdpcotton (talk) 13:47, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

Corsica is a région, not a department
editper Corsica, it's a Région composed of two departments, the tour has been to neither. New here so not sure if I should just change.
- This has now been amended in the lead. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 04:22, 9 July 2013 (UTC)
NOT the 100th Tour
editOur lead says that the 2013 event is the 100th. Because the race wasn't held for several years due to WWII, that's not true. Can we fix it?
(Just looked at 2012 Tour de France. It claims to be the 99th edition. Am I missing something here? Or has everybody else missed it?) HiLo48 (talk) 10:24, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
- The first tour was in 1903 - the war year suspensions make this #100. Blue Square Thing (talk) 10:34, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
- Ah. Sorry. My crappy maths. HiLo48 (talk) 10:38, 14 July 2013 (UTC)

Just some small things left to do:
- Race overview, first paragraph: On stage 2, I don't quite understand what you mean by Bakelants attack a late breakaway. Did he attack from a late breakaway or did he break from the peloton late?
- Second paragraph: How did Gerrans ensure the yellow jersey for Impey?
Good work! On hold for now. Zwerg Nase (talk) 21:53, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
