Saladin Said, Goals

edit

Saladin Said has scored four goals, why does it still say he only has three goals. Please fix this as soon as possible! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.175.128.35 (talk) 10:58, 9 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Removal of next match day scenarios

edit

Can someone please explain why someone keeps removing the next match day scenarios? They are not original research, as they are simple calculations, they are not prognostications, and numerous people find them valuable to understand the ramifications of matches. They have been a part of other Wikipedia FIFA Qualifying pages for years. I'm disturbed that someone is taking the time to destroy an active useful piece of information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.116.74.92 (talk) 00:23, 6 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Start with this: dispute resolution of the 2012–13 UEFA Champions League group stage, for the endless discussion of the shit that is next match day scenarios, search archive on WP:FOOTY........ Dr. Vicodine (talk) 19:45, 6 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
Well, I can only say that those next match day scenarios were the main reason to why I now and then went through all the qualifying groups when a World Cup was approaching. I understand that this "Dr" for some reason disliked them, but, well, when it comes to my relationship with Wikipedia their removal made a negative impact. Fomalhaut76 (talk) 20:43, 17 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
After this example I think there isn't any doubt that the scenarios is a OR and not simple math. Stigni (talk) 08:07, 22 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Live scoring

edit

Have I missed something here? Have we all of a sudden stopped doing live scoring? I've done live scoring all throughout the WCQ and never had a problem. There is even a template designed specifically for "matches in progress". Why is everybody so against live scoring? Matty1487 (talk) 15:49, 8 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

For examples look here or much better here. Stigni (talk) 16:00, 8 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
I appreciate you linking me to relevant discussion on the topic. However, in both of these discussions (and a third linked in the second one), there is absolutely no clear consensus and, in fact, there are only a couple users who disagree with live scoring and they seem to be tiptoeing into the realm of wikilawyering. Until there is a clear, unequivocal consensus to STOP live scoring, I see no harm in the practice, and will continue to update live scores. Matty1487 (talk) 17:15, 8 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • I support live scoring. And before the consensus on this may be changed (And that is a general discussion concerning many many articles) no one can try to impose their personal wievs on a page. That is very unwikipedian. Jack Bornholm (talk) 17:00, 8 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Also see Template:Match in progress. Since consensus have not yet changed this template have not been erased Jack Bornholm (talk) 17:05, 8 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
I have no been warned that I will be blocked if I dont stop editwarring. I have been live updating this page, and even though I have repeatedly asked those that doesnt agree it should be lived updated to post their arguments here, nothing have happened before I get this warning: User talk:Jack Bornholm#September 2013 Is this fair??? Côte d'Ivoire and not Ivory Coast !

edit

Please be advised that the official name of "Ivory Coast" is written in French: Côte d'Ivoire, as a nation for UN and also by FIFA. Cf. FIFA website: http://www.fifa.com/associations/association=civ/index.html Thanks in advance for correcting this mistake. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rafa1985 (talkcontribs) 18:21, 9 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Edit request on 18 June 2013

edit

Please fix the fixture-table for group H. At the moment the score in Algeria-Rwanda is 0-250, Benin-Mali 41-490 and so on. Qed237 (talk) 19:55, 18 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

  Already done
The problem was in a template transcluded to the article, and appears to have been fixed with this edit. Thanks for pointing it out. Begoontalk 08:13, 19 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Difficult to field eligible players for African teams?

edit

There have already been five cases where a team fielded an ineligible player. Why do African Teams have so many problems in fielding eligible players? --Sayka41 (talk) 16:42, 6 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
