Move-locking the article
editI think the article should be locked in terms of moving until a consensus can be reached on what exactly the title should look like. I think I've seen the title being moved around a few times by this point. Love of Corey (talk) 05:24, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
- What do you suggest for the title? What are your thoughts? Minnemeeples (talk) 21:39, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
- I don't understand the point of move-locking since the article hasn't been moved in 2 months and you have no proposal. JayJayWhat did I do? 02:46, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
- Love of Corey raises a good point though. The events are really racial injustice protests, so the current title is a problem. What should the title be? Should it align to 2020–2021 United States racial unrest, and be 2020–2021 Minneapolis–Saint Paul racial unrest? That could prevent unnecessary moves/debates about it if it just follows the U.S. article title. Other thoughts? Minnemeeples (talk) 16:29, 26 April 2021 (UTC)
- I'm fine with any title, to be honest. Love of Corey (talk) 00:47, 27 April 2021 (UTC)
- Moving it to align with the US article would make the most sense. JayJayWhat did I do? 17:54, 27 April 2021 (UTC)
- Someone with the sufficient level of access should move it to 2020–2021 Minneapolis–Saint Paul racial unrest. Minnemeeples (talk) 18:06, 27 April 2021 (UTC)
- Minnemeeples, Done per the RMT request. ─ The Aafī (talk) 17:52, 12 May 2021 (UTC)

Split proposed
editIt is proposed that the events in 2020 and in 2021 be split into two articles. The article as of November 20, 2021, is 112,925 bytes and 43,165 characters. Size, however, is not the only reason to split. Many other articles cover topics by year. Minnemeeples (talk) 05:02, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
- I removed the tags due to lack of discussion. The issue may be revisited in the future. Minnemeeples (talk) 19:40, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
Actual body camera footage showed the officers shouting "police" and "search warrant"
editClaim that they did not identify themselves doesn't add up due to the fact that there was clearly the shout of "police" outside the apartment door.[1] 2601:447:4000:220:500C:16E3:93CA:4697 (talk) 22:27, 4 February 2022 (UTC)
- This source says they identified themselves as they walked through the door. Other RSs say that the police identified themselves once they were inside the apartment. Combefere ❯❯❯ Talk 04:56, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
Killing of Amir Locke
editThe law enforcement killing of Amir Locke is sufficiently notable for a standalone article, should someone be able to take that on. Minnemeeples (talk) 22:38, 4 February 2022 (UTC)
- Agreed. Dozens of RSs have picked this up already. Combefere ❯❯❯ Talk 04:51, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
- Agreed. Absolutely. Becoming a major national story. Moncrief (talk) 06:27, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, agree. It's sort of early to include much content on the page, but there are enough sources discussing this that it seems to warrant its own page. DirkDouse (talk) 13:00, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
- Put together a draft here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Killing_of_Amir_Locke Seems like there is consensus to create a separate page. DirkDouse (talk) 13:11, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
- The article is live. You may go edit Killing of Amir Locke. I pulled over content and added an info box. Minnemeeples (talk) 15:31, 5 February 2022 (UTC)

Social tensions in Minneapolis
editHello, Minnemeeples and all. Would someone here have the time to read through my changes today to Social tensions in Minneapolis? This is difficult material and could use your fresh eyes. Thank you either way. -SusanLesch (talk) 15:00, 11 March 2023 (UTC)
