Recently added list of members
editI wanted to call attention to the recent addition of a list of members. I think this is problematic for multiple reasons. First, this is not a list page and the MOS does discourage long lists in narrative articles. Second, it's arbitrary. The list doesn't spotlight historically significant members and even if it did, arriving at who is significant would be a tricky matter. And spotlighting historically significant people associated with the regiment should be covered in the body of the article anyway. I think it's best to just delete the section. - I respectfully disagree.
- The names and listing of members helps to give humanity to the page. As many of them were early to sign, their stories and different backgrounds help enliven the page and tell the story of the 54th much better than the page is now. They were pioneers in many ways and learning more about their various stories was a valuable addition to the page. You've deleted it anyway. But it would be nice to have either these as a list article or somewhere available so that these are not lost to the ethers of Wikipedia, as they are now. Nayyn (talk) 12:01, 26 September 2024 (UTC)
