Move

edit

I suggest this page is moved to the title "Légion Wallonie" (or its English equivalent) which is certainly the common name and seen frequently in academic sources. As a bonus, it also can refer to all incarnations of the unit, not just its brief and insignificant spell as a "Volunteer Grenadier Division" on paper.—Brigade Piron (talk) 07:55, 10 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Eddy de Bruyne & Marc Rikmenspoel

edit

In re this edit: [1], Marc Rikmenspoel is a Waffen-SS apologist; he's included in this section: Waffen-SS_in_popular_culture#Popular_history. Eddy de Bruyne is an author of unknown credentials; the only thing I see about him is that he had contacts with the Walloon legion troopers [2] & collects wartime photos of Leon Degrelle & the legion's personnel: [3]. -- K.e.coffman (talk) 17:33, 3 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

I have never come across Rickmenspoel before, but I believe that de Bruyne is a relatively well-regarded popular writer on the subject albeit not an academic historian. His work on the Walloon Legion is described as "thorough" by Cegesoma (1) and his 1997 work on Rexist exiles in 1944/1945 was reviewed quite favourably in the Journal of Belgian History (2). I'm not sure whether either of the two points you note about him is strictly relevant. 21:28, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
