Looking for a reliable source
editI have entered emblem information based on what I find in WP:RS. However, I do not think that information is accurate. While the Air Force Historical Research Agency indicate the current emblem is a modification of the 1966 emblem, I do not believe that is accurate. I believe that the "patch" showing a sword piercing chains is the emblem approved in 1966 (it is certainly the only one used in Viet Nam) is the one approved in 1966, while the current emblem is post-1994, being modified twice first, to remove the arrows and star; and second, to change the motto when the unit stopped flying Combat Shadow C-130s. The return to the squadron motto in Viet Nam (I believe) supports my belief that the 1966 emblem was the sword breaking chains. It would be unusual for a unit to return to a motto that was not official. Bottom line: this is a bleg for a reliable source that supports my opinion on the emblem. --Lineagegeek (talk) 23:40, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
