The separate stub 7th Illinois Infantry Regiment (3 Months) should be merged here. In my view, there is no need to separate out the two eras of the regiment based on the two enlistment terms. The initial history and activities of the regiment in 1861 with its 3-month enlistees can and should be covered here. In any case, the current situation is untenable, as this page is currently the primary topic, but there is no hatnote to the 3 month article, nor a disambiguation page, and each of these articles should be disambiguated with 7th Illinois Infantry Regiment (National Guard) which is a redirect to 122nd Field Artillery Regiment.
