West Derby, Liverpool?

edit

Were births in the Isle of Man registered in West Derby, Liverpool during the 1800s? FreeBMD has a Alfred Peter Penketh born in West Derby district during the July→September 1863 quarter, which would make him 25 years old at the time of the 1888 British Lions tour to New Zealand and Australia. No, they wouldn't be. IOM has a separate jurisdiction (hence tax haven) for registrations much like Scotland, Jersey or Guernsey.
But on the other hand, I suspect this could well be our man. There are strong links between there and the IOM. It would be worth checking the 1881 and 1891 census, to see where he was.--MacRusgail (talk) 17:35, 9 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
