Separate pages for each award?

edit

Is this customary? (Goes to check Oscars and Grammy Awards) Hmm, seems to be. Grammy Awards also has pages for awards by year, which seems a more natural listing to me, but I guess both are useful.

Are there any guidelines or 'model pages' when it comes to writing about awards? I am doing some editing on the ARIAs at the moment. pfctdayelise 15:56, 20 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

I created some of those separate pages. I felt that each award deserves an entry, as well as each award ceremony. That way, you can see the AFI Awards by award, or by year. Others may see this as excessive. Cnwb 23:35, 20 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
I almost feel as though the pages are all so small they could almost be on one article, but I like the idea of being able to see by year (ceremony) or award. Peter 02:33, 17 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Trivia deleted - suggestion

edit

Lots of other wikipedia articles include trivia. Maybe these details could be incorporated into the article instead? What do others think? Roaming27 20:58, 24 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

The following was deleted by Cyberjunkie:

AFI Trivia
- * In 2005, it was hosted by Russell Crowe
- * In 2006, it was hosted by Geoffrey Rush, and the ceremony aired on the Nine Network

External links

Yes it is useful information, but could be tabulated similar to other awards articles. Peter 00:21, 25 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

WP:NPOV and controversies

edit

There is a section that rips into the AFI awards harshly and mostly without references. I have tried to tone it down, confine it more to the material where the references are clear. At one point the text made reference to two articles: “Noyce: hands off film industry’ and ‘Cultural exchange, just do it our way’ in The Age. However these need to be properly cited and the exact nature of their claims and evidence spelt out. Cheers. hamiltonstone (talk) 12:30, 30 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

International awards - new cats and updated names

edit

I have added mention of the 1st international awards in the history section, updated the current list of categories in the International awards, and made headings to make it clearer. However it looks as if some of the current articles need renaming in the light of the new cats, and also at some point new articles made for the new cats. Also, in my opinion, it seems more logical to put the category list ahead of the ceremony section, and/or make the latter a hidden list as well.
