Listing December 4 As Release Date is Still Speculative
editThere are no news sources that definitively state that Coldplay is releasing on December 4. All the articles are speculative, which is not appropriate for a Wikipedia article.
Stereogum's article title from November 2 (yesterday) states "Is Coldplay’s ‘A Head Full Of Dreams’ Dropping In December?" - http://www.idolator.com/7613565/coldplay-a-head-full-of-dreams-release-date-cover-art
Exclaim.ca's article title from October 30 (4 days ago) states "Coldplay to Release 'A Head Full of Dreams' on December 4?" - http://exclaim.ca/music/article/coldplay_to_release_head_full_of_dreams_on_december_4
Stereogum's blog entry sounds more definitive on October 29, but states in the article "So, it looks like we can expect the new Coldplay album to arrive 12/4!" - http://www.stereogum.com/1840863/london-coldplay-stans-suss-out-124-release-date-for-a-head-full-of-dreams/news/
So the problem is that the web articles are speculative, but the article for A Head Full of Dreams lists December 4 as if it was fact. It probably is true, but Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a blog, and requires verifiable, accurate sources per Verifiability.
Confirmed track
edit"Confirmed" is a bit much for the second one! Apparently, a Shazam search names it as "Adevnture Of A Lifetime", which in connection with the hashtag "#AOAL" used by Coldplay on social media is a pretty sure thing, but it's not like they already confirmed it or something. 黄雨伞 (talk) 21:11, 4 November 2015 (UTC)
- Yep, it's to early to include that info in the article, in my opinion. Mayast (talk) 14:43, 5 November 2015 (UTC)
Highly speculative article does not have good sources
editMuch of this article is based on dubious sources and rumor. I already removed one claim (that the design has a specific name) that was sourced to an anonymous fan. The source is still in the article and it is debatable as to whether this speculation is reasonable to be included. Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. jps (talk) 11:53, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
- Is there an alternative WP:PAG somewhere that I do0n't know about, specifically for Coldplay? -Roxy the dog™ woof 12:04, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
- I agree that the article requires a lot of work and better sources. However, when it comes to the 'flower of life', there are multiple sources calling the pattern that – I'm going to revert your edit and provide more references. Secondly, I don't see this "attribution made by a fan" anywhere – I would say that it's the same pattern, and it's pretty straight forward. Would you argue that there was an attribution made by a fan if it there was a square, stripes or polka dot on that poster? Or would you just call it "a square", "stripes" or "polka dot"? The only attribution I see here is the fact that it was a fan who linked the design to Chris Martin's T-shirt. Unless you have a problem with the quality of the Flower of Life (geometry) article, but that's a entirely different topic. — Mayast (talk) 16:24, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
- The onus is on you to provide sources to keep content. The "Flower of Life" is a neologism. It's just circles. jps (talk) 17:32, 7 November 2015 (UTC)

"neon soul"
editgoogled that phrase, came up empty.63.142.146.194 (talk) 22:33, 11 December 2015 (UTC)
- Whoever added it probably meant "neo soul", but I have removed the sentence anyway as it was unsourced. Kinetic37 (talk) 11:50, 12 December 2015 (UTC)
Merger proposal
editSomebody else proposed that Birds (Coldplay song) and Fun be merged here but didn't create the discussion. I would support merging; the song does not seem to be notable (yet). In fact there's precious little to merge.TheLongTone (talk) 14:43, 5 January 2016 (UTC)
No, this song is the second single from the album. It also contains chart performances and critical reviews. User:Archiderp 20:35, 9 January 2016 (PST)
Oppose: If the song has entered a notable chart, then the song is notable and the article can stay. Since it has entered two, Dutch Top 100 / UK Singles, then this song is notable enough for its own article. This is a silly proposal. Aria1561 (talk) 23:09, 13 January 2016 (UTC)
- Comment charts (or lack thereof) are actually not an automatic indicator of notability. WP:NSONGS actually states that songs have significant independent coverage (outside of album reviews) by multiple reliable secondary sources AND there must be enough available material on the song to grow beyond a stub. Snuggums (talk / edits) 18:26, 15 January 2016 (UTC)
I agree with TheLongTone. That info about the music video can be added to the main article. Nowadays every song from an album can enter the UK/U.S. charts at a low position thanks to streaming, then it disappears the next week. Cornerstonepicker (talk) 05:28, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
Support merge obviously failing WP:NSONGS. —IB [ Poke ] 09:10, 30 January 2016 (UTC)
Oppose "Fun" it's definitely a standout track and I will work on this article to be nominated for a good article status. Besides being on three different charts, the song has enough material on the internet to be sourced, the only problem with the article is that it's lacking what I know I can support to make it a standout one. I will accept the compromise to work on the article and it would be noteworthy. FanofPopMusic (talk) 02:37, 19 April 2016 (UTC)
Support – Not a relevant article until confirmed as an official single, which it is not. Billboard Man (talk) 03:02, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
Comment — Okay, this is just silly. It's start-class and is well notable. Why is this discussion still open? Safe to say that it should be closed and the article should stay. Aria1561 (talk) 21:47, 14 June 2016 (UTC)

Coldplay concert in La Plata city, no Buenos Aires city.
editColdplay concert was in La Plata city, a city about 40 miles southeast of Buenos Aires city. 190.189.54.176 (talk) 06:32, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
Is 'Truck And Driver' a valid review source?
editThis unlinked magazine seems a very niche reference source — Preceding unsigned comment added by 51.52.43.171 (talk) 12:52, 19 December 2022 (UTC)
