Balcombe, Somerset?

edit

There is mention of a downed German Airman being found wandering around Balcombe, Somerset. Balcombe is in West Sussex (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balcombe) There is a Buncombe Wood in Somerset (https://getoutside.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/local/buncombe-wood-sedgemoor) GorrinTP GorrinTP (talk) 15:23, 20 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Good article? What a load of bollocks.

edit

This article like many others is just a cut and paste job by inexperienced hobbyists who heap error on error:

The engagements resulting from Adlertag became known as the Battle of Britain. During the course of that campaign, the Luftwaffe was prevented from gaining air superiority by the RAF. As a result, Operation Sea Lion was cancelled.

What a load of guff, the Battle of Britain began in July. These engagements were part of the overall campaign. Wikipedia, proving once again it's for people to cheap to buy a well researched Osprey book! 81.132.173.185 (talk) 08:05, 15 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

The quality of Osprey books vary greatly, and if that's your first reference I'd encourage you to branch out. Please read the introductions and bibliographies on wikipedia to avoid looking foolish. Dapi89 (talk) 20:34, 17 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

British Civilian Casualties?

edit

I've edited the battlebox to list 25 civilian casualties as that is what the reference note states. Before it said "hundreds" for some reason. The source of the reference is the War Graves Commission, which is reliable, but the link itself is broken, I will look for an updated page. 71.40.21.239 (talk) 14:17, 13 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Reichmarshall not Empire marshall

edit

Reich is not accurately translated as Empire , Reich has no accurate translation to English, both Imperial Germany and the Weimar republic both bore the name Reich.

Thus Hermann Göring was not Empire Marshall but Reichmarshall. Reich is better translated as realm, translating Reich as empire is incorrect. Keepreadingmore (talk) 12:39, 15 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
