Hello, Please do look at section Age of Empires II#Buildings, where it says that

The Town Center can fire arrows at enemy units within range if villagers or archers are garrisoned while under attack.

It is not true that there is necessarily any "attack", whereas it simply fires when any unit enters the line of sight. This only seems accurate to me. Please share your thought about it :) Hands of the vision (talk) 14:31, 17 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Also, please review my edit int the Age of Empires II#Units and civilizations, where I have changed "Seige Weaponry" to "Seige Weapons" because that's the form it is referred to in the game.

Merger proposal

edit

I propose to merge Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition into this article. Per the consesnsus here and here, remasters generally shouldn't have its own article unless the changes are very significant (which is not the case here). OceanHok (talk) 12:16, 9 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Based on what's in the article and the cursory search for more info, it doesn't seem like there's a ton of separate information and distinct development/reception details that couldn't be summarized, so I'd be fine with a merge. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs talk 18:39, 9 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Oppose the changes from original are signficant enough to warrant its own article (I mean this game was released 2 decades after the original so this is not a Talk:The Last of Us Remastered situation either). The coverage garnered by this game also satifies WP:GNG as laid out in its AFD which was a resounding keep and that was even before the game was released. • Neutral comment I posted this at the other remake article. I think the determinative factor would be whether there is significant coverage of the development of this remake, to show that it has a distinct story from the original. That or an expansion of the reception. Otherwise you could very easily just add the re-release and reception to the main article, as they're currently very short. Oppose as per Spy-Cicle. Mark49s (talk) 16:04, 20 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • A development section doesn't exist right now. I am not seeing a very strong justification to have it as a standalone article when the parent article can accommodate all these information in a more coherant manner. OceanHok (talk) 18:59, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Oppose - unlike with the HD Edition, which was basically just porting the game over to Steam and updating the game to work on Windows 8/10, the Definitive Edition is actually a new game in itself. The changes made in the Definitive Edition (graphics, sounds, UI, main menu, new campaigns) are significant enough that the Definitive Edition should have its own article. Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition has its own separate article for the same reason Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen has its own separate article. It's an enhanced remake (with enough new features to distinguish itself from the original game) and not just a remaster.—Mythdon (talkcontribs) 19:48, 5 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • I have withdrawn the merge request for Definitive Edition. While I still feel that the parent article can handle the information much better, it seems that there is a consensus to keep it. OceanHok (talk) 11:15, 4 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
