Agritech → Agricultural technology – This is the full name, "agritech" just being a jargon abbreviation. This page does not get many page views, which is remarkable considering it is linked in the heading of the {{agriculture}} template. The similar articles Agricultural engineering and Agricultural machinery (which are not linked in the template heading) both get substantially more page views. This is all to suggest that "agritech" is not a search term many are likely to use. I have just retargeted "agricultural technology" to this article, where it previously redirected to "agricultural machinery". But it would be preferable to use this as the name of the article. — the Man in Question (in question) 21:30, 2 May 2020 (UTC)
- Support per jargon argument. No point obfuscating titles like this. Axem Titanium (talk) 17:59, 5 May 2020 (UTC)
- Support to draw a clearer connection between this article and others in the same category. Alexius08 (talk) 04:29, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
- Not sure what the confusion about renaming this is. If you're going to rename this, then perhaps you should also consider renaming the following:
- Agritech (Agriculture + Technology)
- Edutech (Education + Technology)
- Fintech (Financial + Technology)
- Foodtech (Food + Technology)
- Healthtech (Health + Technology)
- Sportstech (Sports + Technology)
- Oh, and don't forget to rename Agritech Tokyo Expo as well: https://www.agriexpo-tokyo.jp/en-gb/about/agritech.html
- Oh, and don't forget to rename Agriweek Tokyo too: https://www.agriexpo-tokyo.jp/en-gb.html
- Face it... it would be easier and better to cross-link the two rather than renaming one or the other! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wbenton (talk • contribs) 15:53, 8 May 2020 (UTC)
- I do not understand your argument. There are no articles foodtech, healthtech, or sportstech. Fintech redirects to Financial technology (which is exactly what we are proposing here), and likewise edutech to Educational technology. There is no page for Agritech Tokyo Expo or Agriweek Tokyo, and if there were, then assuming those are the official names of those events, they would be kept intact, just as the "Expo" in the name of the first one would not be changed to "exposition", even though "expo" is not the name of an article. — the Man in Question (in question) 18:49, 8 May 2020 (UTC)
