Contested deletion

edit

This page should not be speedy deleted because AirAsia Philippines is a legitimate airline as far as the approval of the Board of Investments is concerned. In fact, the airline is now a subject of protest along with SEAir's partnership with Tiger Airways. - bedcrawl 15:37, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

Ownership of Philippine Airline

edit

The article makes the statement that "the Philippine Constitution does not allow 100% foreign ownership of a Philippine-registered business" which isn't entirely true, though it may be true for airlines. Does anyone have a citation for this?

I looked through the relevant sections of the Philippine Constitution and couldn't find anything that calls out airlines specifically (keep in mind, it's from 1987). I also looked through the Foreign Investments Act of 1991, which didn't specifically call out airlines either. In fact, the closest thing I could find was this PDF from the Board of Investments which breaks down ownership percentages by category. In the "Up to 40%" category, airlines are not listed, unless they're defined as public utilities, which I also couldn't confirm. Anyone?

Why separate articles?

edit

Is there a reason why there are two articles -- AirAsia Philippines and AirAsia Zest? Shouldn't they be merged? --180.191.114.158 (talk) 07:27, 17 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
