editIt is so because although the person is recognized in the west by the Arabic name, he was not an Arab. Westerners tend to lump all middle easterners together in one group, which is incorrect. Nayrizi was Persian, hence the name al-Nayrizi is incorrect even though prevalent, perhaps even in his own time, as Arabic was the lingua franca of scientists.--Zereshk 21:46, 1 August 2005 (UTC)
