Splitting article
edit{{help}}
I understand that a "merge" requires special tools to maintain attribution, and assume that a "split" (if that's the word?) does the same. Here we have an article confounding Aldred of Lindisfarne (died 968) with Aldred the Scribe (active two years after the latter's death) - how to separate them while retaining the attribution of contributions? --Andreas Philopater (talk) 10:30, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
This might help with the content; not with the technical question. --Andreas Philopater (talk) 10:32, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
- Just put something like "split from Aldred of Lindisfarne" in the edit summary. Algebraist 11:07, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
