Role in Sinergy

edit

I think it's worth noting that he does much of the male vocal work (and he spits!) for Sinergy. I can't confirm how much of the male vocals he's been doing live since Marco Hietala left, but it's even noted on Sinergy's wikipedia page (and obvious in many of their songs) that his role stretches beyond guitars. He sings in at least one song on each of the currently released Sinergy albums. Agibson714 (talk) 07:50, 29 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Married?

edit

Is there a source for the statement regarding Alexi's marriage to Elyah? I hadn't heard that anywhere. Upon examining the history, I saw Dislexi Le-ho removed it, but Saber girl08 reverted it. That puts me under the impression that it is generally known that they are married. I'm a little skeptical, but I see Saber girl08 is a respectable wiki-er. To sate my own curiosity, can someone produce a source? Thanks :) FalseLobster 05:03, 11 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

This has actually been recently discovered by members of the official Children Of Bodom forum. It's totally not true, because he never re-married, in fact, he is still married to Kimberly Goss for legal reasons. There is no proof that he got re-married. Interesting note I've discovered; type Elyah Lewdalc on Google and you'll get only 2 results, linking back to wikipedia. One to Alexi Laiho and the other to Aiden. Read the history and you'll find that the same IP address which added in the statement about Alexi's marriage also added the statement about Elyah Lewdalc and one of the Aiden members.

So anywho, long story short; SHE DOES NOT EXIST!!

Gay?

edit

I was going through some online music forum, when I saw this pic of Alexi Laiho kissing this bearded guy on the lips. My question: is he gay? Can someone explain this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.112.204.213 (talk) 06:52, 30 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Answer

edit

He isnt gay he states so on the Stockholm Knockout Live DVD interviews. I'll write something about it on the page. Can't have people thinking my hero is gay... not that theres much wrong with that82.20.247.133 01:56, 23 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

He is not gay. There was and article in a finnish tabloid that he and Janne wirman had a full blown gay relationship. they thought it was funny, and decided to keep the rumor going. The bearded guy he was kissing was janne. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.178.123.41 (talk) 07:52, 31 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Biography

edit

Shouldn't the biography section be divided into several parts? I think it would look neater that way. Just a suggestion. If no one wants to do it, I can do it. --Zouavman Le Zouave 10:48, 30 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Tattoo?

edit

According to the page: "He has the letters "COBHC" (Children of Bodom Hate Crew) tattooed on his hand as an homage to Ozzy Osbourne, who has a similar tattoo." Ozzy osbourne has a similar tattoo? As in he has COBHC tattooed on his hand? I don't get that quote — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.176.50.180 (talk) 10:31, 17 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

It implies that Alexi's tattoo on his knuckles is similiar to Ozzy's tattoo, which is also on the knuckles except with the letters "O-Z-Z-Y" Dying2live 21:47, 20 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

I think I have seen in many pictures his tattoo is actually the letters "H-A-T-E" (right hand) and "C-O-B-H-C" (left hand), maybe that part should be changed so that it's clearer. 210.246.12.54 08:24, 22 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yea he has COBHC on his left hand and HATE on his right, you can see this on some pics on google if you google his name, i edited the bit, but somebody may want to reword it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.210.66.190 (talk) 22:39, 6 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Copyright?

edit

"as the RV shape is a copyrighted Jackson shape"-wouldn't that be a patent, not a copyright? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.33.85.65 (talk) 06:56, 18 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Name

edit

The article states his name as Markku Uula Aleksi Laiho. Is there a proof for that? Everybody could come up with any names. I will delete his "full name" if nobody can prove that it's his full name (i.e. link) because I think that this is wrong information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.52.190.175 (talk) 09:42, 4 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

"Alexi "Wildchild" Laiho (Markku Uula Aleksi Laiho)" and "Birth name Markko Uula Aleksi Laiho". Is it Markku or Markko? If this even has a source then that should be corrected. I'd do it myself but I have no idea where to find out which is right. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.217.17.90 (talk) 07:52, 3 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Trivia

edit

The remaining trivia is not very important and could be totally removed from his profile. Does anybody agree?Abtreibung (talk) 21:06, 27 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

'Fortunately, he was discovered and taken to a hospital in Espoo to recuperate.'

edit

The 'fortunately' there is pretty subjective, various parties would not agree:
1: 'The right to commit suicide' upheld by some, the argument of 'Requiring people to stay alive who want to die and at the same time punish those who require those to die who want to stay alive (murder)', those would argue that he had in that 'fortunate moment' just been denied the right to judge over his own body and existence as a conscious force.
2: Some people might just want him to die, sounds harsh, but it's still an opinion.
The 'fortunately' here still presses through the opinion that suicide is always 'bad', as I hail from a country which has legalized euthanasia and assisted suicide and has recognised the right of any citizen to ultimately value for themselves if they consider there life worth living, I find this 'fortunately' pretty nonobjective here. Inconsistency with Tuning across Blooddrunk

edit

it says Blooddrunk has 3 songs which are in D and it also says all of the songs in Blooddrunk are in drop C except two songs. So which one is correct? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.204.23.16 (talk) 18:47, 26 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Participation with Wintersun?

edit

It said that Alexi would be participating in Wintersuns new album. Is there a source for this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.44.17.121 (talk) 04:57, 23 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Equipment

edit

The last couple sentences in "Equipment" sound very un-encyclopedia like.

"He asked Jackson to make him another one, but the time-table they gave him for its production was too long (around a years time). ESP came to him and said that it would take around 3 months for his new signature model to be up and running so of course, Alexi took this offer. Thus he switched to ESP guitars."

Someone revise please?

70.79.113.90 (talk) 23:10, 29 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have to agree, although I think it's the entire part that does not sound very encyclopedia like, and not just the few sentences. GonX (talk) 16:34, 4 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

John Petrucci?

edit

However, John Petrucci replied "I'm better than Alexi? Of course not. If I am, that would mean that I'm the best guitarist in the world! That guy can play fast solos while he's drunk!".

There is apparently no source given for this statement. I googled it but i found nothing. Sounds a bit like statement by a worshipping Alexi-admirer. -- 87.185.123.46 (talk) 14:10, 14 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Career

edit

The article starts his career in 2004, with Kylähullut, yet bodom had been around for a good 11 years by then. Anyone want to write about that, cause it seams weird that nothing is said about Bodom in the beginning of the section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.116.18.202 (talk) 01:23, 7 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

A substandard article

edit

This article is simply horrible. For example, in "Career" section there is every kind of junk like his comments on Dream Theater or how he is engaged in Pontiac cars but nearly nothing about his career (there is some unimportant side project mentioned in the very beginning though like that was where his career started). I putted the rewrite tag. I'm not a fan of Laiho or CoB so I unfortunately can't participate in rewriting myself. ML (talk) 13:12, 21 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Removed info on failed suicide attempt?

Guitar redeeming

"In February 2011, one Purehmv (Canada) member redeemed a Children of Bodom Alexi Laiho Signature ESP Flying V guitar for 1,100,000 points, the highest point total redeemed to date." Could someone explain what this means? Also it's not cited. Øln (talk) 21:22, 27 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
