True information

edit

Please don't delete the TRUE ancestry information about Alice Panikian. I asked the administrator to ban the user with IP address 130.86.114.99 for making a malicious, UNTRUE and offensive revision. I know that the offender has contributed to articles discussing Armenians and that he lives in California. I would say shame on him!

If you're so keen to include this information, at least edit it so that it creates the correct wikilinks, and do not use shorthand. I've revised it to "three quarters Bulgarian and one quarter Armenian ancestry". Hope this is okay. PageantUpdater 23:08, 30 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yes. It's fine. Thank you. Aura

She is a Bulgarian and a representative of Bulgarian beauty. She has an Armenian surname beacuse her paternal grandfather (father's father). Notice that she looks like a Bulgarian girl and not dark like a Armenian. Please do not distort the facts. What are you talking about? She has the the face and eyes of an Armenian. I have seen a lot of Bulgarian people (one of my best friends is Bulgarian) and she doesn't look like them. She looks exactly like an Armenian --TheShadowCrow (talk) 20:50, 24 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Word usage

edit

words used in this article are quite confusing. "...as one of the strongest successors to then-reigning Miss Universe, Natalie Glebova." well, i know that this refers to her succeeding glebova as miss canada, but the insertion of "then reigning Miss Universe" makes it seem that she has earned that title. also, when it is mentioned that she made it to the final 10 but not a runner-up, such could just be simplified as saying that she made it to the top 10. the mere fact that no other citations were made that she was a runner-up (because if she did placed, it would have been mentioned)--that is, just "top 10"--already encapsulates that idea. anyway, it may take weeks or months before the placements from fifth to 10th could be made public; in such a case, then her specific placement can be included. --Joey80 13:23, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

It seems to refer to Alice being a favourite to win Miss Universe, as the next sentence is about how no country's won back-to-back. I'm pretty sure Canada has won Miss Canada back-to-back before, so it shouldn't be referring to that title. The reference talks about her being a strong candidate for Miss Universe also. --TheTruthiness 17:59, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Alice's Height

edit

Her offical webpage says 6'0, and the source provided (offical Miss Universe Canada website) says 6'1 on one page but 6' on another. Because the MUC page can't decide between each one, and Alice probably knows her height better than a third party I have removed the 6'1 references. --TheTruthiness 07:26, 27 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:5.jpg

edit

Image:5.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
