editWhy is her name spelled with a "y"? "Alona" is far more common in English-language media. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hyperkine (talk • contribs) 21:13, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
It`s name is translated from the Ukrainian language. Sign "ьо" - "y".

Thanks...do you know why it was picked up as "Alona" by English-language media? ~hyperkine —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hyperkine (talk • contribs) 12:36, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
No. It is probably necessary to use ö, but the given letter in the English alphabet is absent. --StS 20:45, 8 April 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by StSasha (talk • contribs)
Grand slam results
editThe table on the side seems to imply that she won the 2008 Australian Open singles title, which she did not. I'm not sure what her result was, so I can't correct it. Also I'm confused about the purpose of the table -- is this supposed to be the best result in each major? I don't think it is clearly labeled. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tpl6060 (talk • contribs) 03:38, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
