Serious errors to be rectified
edit- He was never Earl of Leicester. John gave his father's holdings to Chester, out of revenge for Magna Carta, and the father was killed before he ever returned to England to hold the Plantagenets to account for the breach of the Charter they had just signed. Henry III continued to block the inheritance, because Chester was far more powerful than the young de Montfort, who in any case owed fealty to the French King, making him anathema to Henry. The result was his father's holdings were split, his brother Simon, five years his junior, taking the English holdings while Amaury took the French. The result was perpetual animosity by Simon against Henry, resulting in the second Baron's War. http://www.englishmonarchs.co.uk/plantagenet_58.html
- Kill the fictitious 19th Century romantic painting, it's not a true picture of the man, just a stylised guess. You have the Chartres image, use that instead.
- He was not buried in Otranto, but in the old Vatican Basilica of St Peters, one of the few non-Papal inhumations. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=60597832
- He was not freed, but released because he was unransomable and dying: the Arabs considered it degrading to their duty of hospitality have a prisoner/hostage die while in their care.
This is why you need to cite your sources, because as it stands this is seriously in error. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.10.235.165 (talk) 22:49, 14 March 2015 (UTC)

Amaury VI of Montfort → Amaury de Montfort (died 1241) – The numbering is confusing: this individial is numbered IV, VI or VII in other language Wikis; Amaury VI de Montfort commonly refers to someone else, Amaury IV of Évreux. Move to Amaury de Montfort (crusader)
edit- I support a move, but not this one. Amaury III of Évreux was also a crusader. Srnec (talk) 01:13, 18 June 2019 (UTC)
