I disagree.The Academy is stellar in fields which are diverse and not just political science.

I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

• I removed the 'United States National Academies' category as it is a proprietary name (see United States National Academies,) and this article's organization is not one of those academies: that category ([[Category:United States National Academies]]) is for those academies. The phrase is a descriptive name and sounds like it could apply to any national academy, and often gets confused with the name specific to the organization known as the United States National Academies. I too confused its use on another article, and I see others have as well. -- Sctechlaw (talk) 09:11, 9 May 2010 (UTC)

More, please

After many years, this article is still partially a stub.  Much of the content is not in article form, but only lists of things.

I came here for a specific piece of information—which, granted, is likely best presented in a list: the Academy's headquarters locations (address and city) since its founding.  It not being here prompts me to realize, and ask—somewhat in the spirit of the 1st commenter at top:  Are you saying there is presently no treatment in Wikipedia of the 240-year history of a topic as massive as the American Academy of Arts and Sciences?

So, more fully "articleize" this article; and do a writeup of the Academy's history.  Offloading the latter to a 2nd article might be desirable.  Granted, that'll take some effort.
