The result of the move request was: No consensus to move, current title does no harm to WP Mike Cline (talk) 13:41, 28 December 2011 (UTC)
American Helicopter Museum → American Helicopter Museum & Education Center – The American Helicopter Museum & Education Center may be the proper name, however the article title should include the full name due to the importance placed on education by the organization itself. The fact that it is an education center is reflected in its mission statement and is an idea upheld by the board of directors as the place's most important contribution to the community. The name is not considered too long by ether staff or visitors. The name is reflected in all of the organization's media and self-branding and the name is never shortened in reference.relisting see below Andrewa (talk) 07:02, 21 December 2011 (UTC)Mlickliter (talk) 17:19, 13 December 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose for now but relisting... the proposal ignores article name policy, and gives instead a rationale in terms of promotion of the center's aims. Laudable as these may be, there's a slippery slope if we start choosing article names on this basis. I invite anyone interested to provide a valid rationale for the move. Andrewa (talk) 07:02, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
- "...the name is never shortened in reference[s]" seems like a valid rationale to me, assuming it's true. Station1 (talk) 01:14, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
- Support - promotion aside, using the full name of the facility seems reasonable to me, given that the full name is what is in bold in the lede. - The Bushranger One ping only 11:31, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
- Comment: That also seems to ignore both our policy and practice. The name in the lead and title often differ, although more in some types of article than others. Why should they be the same in this particular case? No change of vote. Andrewa (talk) 15:57, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose per Andrewa's appeal to WP:AT. The guidelines are a bit of a mess, but seem clear in this case, since the place is much more widely known by the short title. Dicklyon (talk) 07:09, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
