Expansion and clean-up
editCreated history section, added image, added sources to the preexisting text (unfortunately all from AIA, we need some outside sources too), did clean-up of some MOS issues, removed some peacock and POV terms and statements (needs more work). Some of the preexisting text is awfully close to that on the AIA website, this needs some immediate attention though I personally didn't see any that was a complete copy/paste. Cheers. This article does not mention explicitly that the AIA facilitates the registration of architects in the US (through the joint IDP program), nor does it make mention of the interplay between AIA, NCARB, and states, although it relies on knowledge of this information in later sections, for example when referring to "registered architects". Recommend adding this info to the intro. Ahp378 (talk) 02:13, 1 September 2011 (UTC) Edit: I've since noticed that this info is located in the article "Professional requirements for architects" although it is sparse.
AIA 25 Year Award
editHas anyone set up a category for this or other awards? It would be useful to add to some building pages.--Parkwells (talk) 16:37, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
Lack of Direction
editIt appears that the AIA has lost some of its focus since the new EVP/CEO - Christine McEntee - took over. More money than ever before is going out. She is selling the AIA name to anyone who will give her a million dollars. So much for the integrity of the institution. 66.106.195.42 (talk) 15:02, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
I believe that there should be a section for criticism. I remember hearing that only 25% of all graduates join the AIA. Even if they work in a firm, there might not be that many registered members. I think they have not been politically involved with going green, but the US green building council has picked up some of the slack. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.179.51.166 (talk) 01:00, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
- Then by all means, add it. Just remember that whatever you add must be verifiable and written from a neutral point of view with reliable sources. If it isn't it will be removed. Altairisfartalk 01:32, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
AIA Guides
editDoes this Institute have something to do with the AIA Guides to several cities, or is that some other AIA? Either way the article should say. Jim.henderson (talk) 19:58, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

AIA Contract Forms & Other Missing Content
editNeed a master page for AIA forms, and possibly for the more commonly used forms, like their A102, A201, B143, etc. Also, there should be a discussion of how they fit in with other orgs like consensus, dbia, etc. Finally, I've heard some sensible, frank criticism of the AIA in industry discussions. It might be nice to have a section that captures some of the more obvious criticisms (e.g. AIA's use of its proprietary form set to advance the partisan interests of architects in the construction risk management process).TheScarletL (talk) 16:07, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
