In perusing various articles related to persons and events of the Old West over a few hours, I have observed and tagged examples of lengthy passages that are wholly unsupported by any sources. I don't know where this stuff comes from. I hope we are not perpetuating an unencyclopedic, romanticized and mythologized version of Old West folklore, and I encourage editors to closer scrutinize the content. Butch Cassidy's Wild Bunch might be a good launching point to follow wikilinks and examine the myriad persons and events, many of which appear dubious. soibangla (talk) 06:47, 27 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
