Major Rework of Article - March 2018
editThere has been a major reworking of this article by me today, because it had serious issues that needed being dealt with, including unreferenced and questionable notability in some sections, a section that was unclear on what it stated and was somewhat unnecessary, and no proper History information other than mentions of awards and statements about the show being renewed. The article has been heavily modified to clean it up and make it proper and correct. There are some things that should be done, at the very least, to help further improve it, as stated below:
- Format - A proper layout of the format, detailing how the show operates as such, needs to be included - it must not be detailed, but should include segments that were used that were discontinued afterwards.
- Awards - A list of information on any awards the show has earned, or its presenters.

- You definitely did the right thing by cleaning up, but the page does look very bare now. Certain text should be reinstated but with correct citations. Although the List of Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway episodes page is far worse than this page ever was... TheMysteriousEditor (talk) 15:17, 4 March 2018 (UTC)
- True, it may look bare, but as I stated above, it should be improved with sections I listed above. The list of episodes table (or transmissions table), should also get some work done by someone willing to do so. The main reason for the reworking was to clean up the information that was presented, removing pieces which made little sense to be included due to a lack of notability - however, those pieces, reduced in detail could be incorporated into Format.GUtt01 (talk) 15:40, 4 March 2018 (UTC)
- I have to add, I may also be looking towards getting the List of Episodes for this show cleaned up, as I look at it and see quite a bit of a mess there - format items line up this document, there information there that is unreferenced, and the thing should be primarily focused on the episodes themselves, not listing other stuff that can be surely covered in the main article. GUtt01 (talk) 15:55, 4 March 2018 (UTC)
- I've just now done a format section for the article. This should be suitable for the article; it can be added to with information, briefly detailed, about former, discontinued segments for the programme. GUtt01 (talk) 17:19, 4 March 2018 (UTC)
Super Computer segment of programme's format
editCan someone provide some clarification on what exactly this segment was about, and when it was first introduced, along with whether it's still retained in the programme, please? I can't make sense of this segment at all. GUtt01 (talk) 12:34, 9 March 2018 (UTC)
Recent events with host Anthony McPartlin
editAs editors should be aware, there has been a recent development regarding this presenter of Saturday Night Takeaway, in accordance to an incident they were involved in on 18 March 2018, and which had a subsequent knock-on effect the following day. The issue we have is that some editors have tried to include this matter within the Lead of this article, as well as the relevant section on "List of Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway Episodes", at a time where there is uncertainty over the future of the programme. At present, it would be wisest that information regarding the incident be refrained from this article, and held back from the List of Episodes until after the current series has ended, regardless of remaining episodes being aired or pulled from broadcast; when the series is ended, the incident can be mentioned in brief detail, along with the impact it had on the 15th series. In addition, please don't include scheduling changes to the programme on the presenter's article, with the exception of the impact the incident had on their career/personal life. Phone in scandal
editThe "phone-in" scandal of 2007 was not mentioned in this article at all, so I have taken the decision to include it. (I took a decision to include a similar section in Soapstar Superstar). It was a serious event, which resulted in the highest fines imposed on any British broadcaster in history. Not to have included it at all in this article seems disproportionate to me.
I believe that the phone-in scandal deserves its own Wiki article. But, for now, I have featured the saliant points in this one. I will be "watching" this page, and any constructive feedback is most welcome.Mosherdude91 (talk) 20:38, 28 April 2018 (UTC)
Black Face controversy
editIn the Ant & Dec go undercover segment of the show they used blackface. They dressed up as "Jamaican women" & hip hop or rap black men. This happened between 2003 & 2005. In my opinion it should be mentioned. (Fran Bosh (talk) 17:52, 12 June 2020 (UTC))
