The result of the move request was: Moved to Antonio Sánchez (footballer, born 1997) and Toni Sánchez per the below discussion. (non-admin closure) Iffy★Chat -- 10:36, 23 April 2020 (UTC)
– WP:COMMONNAME of both footballers omits maternal last name always, former is the only association known as "Antonio Sánchez" the latter exclusively as "Toni". Disambiguate the former to standard for footballers. Ortizesp (talk) 13:53, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose. This makes no sense. "Antonio Sánchez (footballer)" is clearly incomplete disambiguation. 98.143.75.50 (talk) 18:22, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
- How? He's the only association footballer who plays with the name.--Ortizesp (talk) 18:46, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
- "Antonio Sánchez (footballer)" equally applies to Antonio Sánchez Cabeza. There is no special significance to "plays with the name". If there were, nobody would have named the articles the way they are in the first place. See WP:INCDAB. 98.143.75.50 (talk) 12:50, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
- The latter footballer is known exlusively as "Toni" or "Toni Sánchez". Never as specifically "Antonio Sánchez", and only by his full name in a legal sense.--Ortizesp (talk) 15:46, 15 April 2020 (UTC)

- Support per nom, the disambiguation is complete since one player goes by Antonio and one by Toni...also, there is clear consensus that we don't use maternal last names to disambiguate footballers, since that violates COMMONNAME. Keskkonnakaitse (talk) 15:25, 15 April 2020 (UTC)

- Oppose per IP who rightly points out that 'Antonio Sánchez (footballer)' is ambiguous. I'd suggest moves to Antonio Sánchez (footballer, born 1997) and Antonio Sánchez (footballer, born 1985) accordingly. GiantSnowman 16:57, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
- Antonio Sánchez Cabeza is never known by his full name or "Antonio Sánchez", exclusively known as "Toni" or "Toni Sanchez", and he's the only footballer with that name. I can't find any references calling him "Antonio Sánchez".@GiantSnowman:.--Ortizesp (talk) 22:43, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
- I would agree on this move if Antonio Sánchez Cabeza but it doesn't seem to be the case. Can you review?@GiantSnowman:--Ortizesp (talk) 14:53, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
- The fact is that there are (at least) two footballers called 'Antonio Sánchez' (even if one might go by 'Toni') and therefore your proposed move to move one article to Antonio Sánchez (footballer) does not work. GiantSnowman 06:35, 19 April 2020 (UTC)
- How about this alternative Antonio Sánchez (footballer, born 1987) and Toni Sánchez? Would that work? I think that may perhaps fit@GiantSnowman:.--Ortizesp (talk) 19:05, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, that could work. GiantSnowman 19:10, 20 April 2020 (UTC)

- Proposing the below as per above. Pinging others involved to see if this is favorable.@98.143.75.50:@Keskkonnakaitse:@GiantSnowman:
Antonio Sánchez Navarro → Antonio Sánchez (footballer, born 1987), Antonio Sánchez Cabeza → Toni Sánchez
- Support this proposal. The original proposal is ambiguous. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:35, 22 April 2020 (UTC)
- Support this proposal. Ticks all the boxes. Andrewa (talk) 16:33, 22 April 2020 (UTC)
