who is Klerru?
editwho is this klerru person who is mentioned to be murdered?--Calm 03:22, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
His full name, and title, is Dr. Wilbert Kleruu. He earned his PhD in political science from UCLA in the sixties. When he returned to Tanzania, he served as publicity secretary of the ruling Tanganyika African National Union (TANU).
He was later appointed - by President Julius Nyerere - Regional Commissioner (roughly equivalent to state governor in the United States) of Iringa Region in the Southern Highlands of Tanzania.
The farmer who shot him dead was convicted of murder.
Clean-up?
editThis article needs major cleaning up. There are fragments, unreferenced people, and a generally negative view of the declaration that I don't understand fully. I could try to correct this when I have time, but I'd really hope someone with more knowledge could fix this. Elefuntboy (talk) 19:34, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
This article does not provide an explication of "The Arusha Declaration", but rather is a subjective analysis of policies implemented following the "Declaration" which were subsequent articles published in the National Newspapers of Tanzania. "The Arusha Declaration" iteself was a creed on the policy of socialism. Cofstie (talk) 17:56, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
I mean another solution would be to delete this article altogether, since the declaration in it's entirety is available from the MIA. The Ujamaa Article is covering the Project and it's execution. This article would really just be a place if there was enough linkable critique (as in Wikipedia:Notability) of the declaration itself to justify it's own article.
