This article needs expanding. What is the Fokas method? What did he get the Naylor Prize for?

Athanassios Fokas is one of the world's leading mathematicians. Much of his work has been in the field of partial differential equations, in which the "Fokas method", also known as the unified transform method, is widely talked about. There are dozens of researchers working on it. It is considered a major move forward. Could we have a definition and brief description please.

And what did he receive the Naylor Prize for? I suspect the answer is that he got it for the Fokas method, but what he got it for should be mentioned in the article.
