– This is a test balloon to see if there is widespread support for moving all non-compliant articles to be compliant with Wikipedia:Naming conventions (video games), which stipulates that "For video game players, use either (gamer) or (video game player)". If this achieves consensus, there are about 60 other articles that would also need to be moved (most of which are other DotA or League of Legends players with ([name of game] player) as the disambig in use. - Support move for all per guideline and previous discussion. I think this less-specific disambiguation is preferred. ~Maplestrip/Mable (chat) 07:44, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
- Support all - per WP:NCVG these current titles don't meet the guidelines and should be changed as proposed. --Gonnym (talk) 08:04, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
- Support all per previous discussions and NCVG. — bieχχ (talk) 08:48, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
- support I was thinking about this recently, and it suprised me that these were all like this. Personally, I prefer "professional gamer", as the identifier, as the words "gamer" and "video game player" don't really get across that these people do this for a living, and are notable for actually playing games. - I like your idea. Its more precise and more concise. It also seems more common — "professional gamer" yields ~10k Google News results (36k for "pro gamer") and "video gamer player" ~7k ("pro player" ~45k, but it includes players of other sports). — bieχχ (talk) 14:42, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
- No other sport disambiguation uses "professional <sport>" so why would this be treated any differently? Also, that option is not part of the NC guideline - don't fix one unsupported style with another unsupported style. --Gonnym (talk) 11:59, 6 September 2018 (UTC)

- Support , seems reasonable. "Dota player" means very little if you've never heard of the game. —Xezbeth (talk) 15:09, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
- Support - but use "professional gamer", per Lee's comment. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 03:39, 5 September 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose for Karma (Call of Duty player) due to the existence of Karma (Halo player); otherwise support. feminist (talk) 17:00, 10 September 2018 (UTC)
