Monochrome screen colour
editDoes anybody have any proper references for the assertions made in this section? It sounds to me to be based the assumptions of the author rather than any concrete evidence. For similarly focussed tasks (such as early computer screens) green was used simply because of the availability of long-persistence green phosphors, which significantly reduced the appearance of flicker even as comparatively low refresh rates. It was nothing to do with the hypothetical easy on the eye property of green. I have vague memories of usability studies back in the late 70's that found yellow on blue was actually the colour combination easiest on the eye. In the absence of any evidence I propose snipping that section in its entirety. CrispMuncher (talk) 12:16, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
