The article suggest that a disadvantage of the A-P winding for resistors is the need for four times the length of wire for a given resistance. Would using a thinner wire make up for the parallel windings therefore needing the same length of wire?

This depends on your demands. With the same wire the resistor will become twice the length because the wires will cross twice per wound and lay side by side at the rest of the rod's scope. If you use the same rod length/scope and want to get the same resistor value you need approx. 0.63 x the wire diameter and 0,79 x the length of the single wirde wound resistor wire length.Ulfbastel (talk) 12:27, 25 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
