- Bühlmann tables → Bühlmann decompression algorithm — Since Bühlmann's work was actually to produce a decompression algorithm, which was then used to produce dive tables and form the basis of software in dive computers, the name "Bühlmann tables" only reflects part of what this article should be about. Both Gene Hobbs and I want to expand this article further to complement the biography Albert A. Bühlmann, thus aiming to provide a complete picture of his life and work without fragmenting into more than two articles. Both Bühlmann tables and Bühlmann algorithm would be set to redirect here. --RexxS (talk) 13:53, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks RexxS! --Gene Hobbs (talk) 15:02, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
- But what the scuba diver sees is the decompression tables, not the algorithm. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 09:34, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
- I would argue that the average diver does see the algorithm and not a table. I would think most recreational divers use the algorithm in a dive computer. Technical divers use the algorithm to make tables and know the difference between the two (too many software packages available to count anymore). Either way, this is an encyclopedia, we should be as correct as possible for the article name and use redirects for any others. Just my $0.02... Thanks --Gene Hobbs (talk) 15:11, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

ZHL and ZH-L
editThe article uses both naming schemes but recommends the second. Both seem to be in use in computer manuals. Is one particularly preferred to the other for any reason? Perhaps update the article to be consistent and perhaps mention both schemes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Franzo (talk • contribs) 11:00, 8 August 2017 (UTC)
Formulas
editI would say that giving a table with "a"- and "b"-coefficients without stating the formula where they are used (the linear relation between compartment partial pressure and minimal ambient pressure) is pretty useless. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Atdotde (talk • contribs) 07:59, 19 July 2018 (UTC)
