Is the spacing on either side of the en dash necessary? Neither element has a space within itself; according to MOS:ENDASH no additional space is necessary. Daniel Case (talk) 17:57, 4 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Andropov and Prince Lvov

edit

Neither Andropov nor Prince Lvov, both in this list as 'bald', were in fact bald. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.223.13.73 (talk) 23:03, 4 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Andropov was partially bald (stage 4A or thereabouts on Norwood scale). --Itinerant1 (talk) 01:01, 5 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Originally this joke referred to the soviet era only, and the first one in the sequence was Lenin. Also, Lvov and Andropov (as well as Kerensky and Chernenko) were short-term leaders and thus are somewhat minor figures of Russian history, in comparison to the rest of the leaders. See the image of matryoshkas: all four are missing from the set. Andrey Kartashov (talk) 17:48, 5 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

A link was removed by User:Greyhood [1] due to presuuposed unreliability of blog sources. I strongly believe it should be restored: though published in a blog, it's an interview with a prominent Russian cartoonist Denis Osokin, hold by a professional reporter, and the blog is not some random personal page, but a column at the website of Echo Moskvy, a popular Russian broadcaster. Andrey Kartashov (talk) 18:13, 5 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

I've moved it from inline citations to external links as there was need to do so for DYK posting. Feel free to re-add it inline if you find it appropriate. GreyHood Talk 11:46, 6 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Bald–hairyBald – hairy The article is not about a bold-hairy creature, but about a sequence of distinct bald and hairy men. Spacing also corresponds to the usage in Russian. GreyHood Talk 17:49, 6 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Bald - Full head of hair?

edit

Hairy means "with a lot of hair". That's not what 'volosatyj' means in Russian, so is the title really accurate? "Full head of hair" seems more appropriate. Not punchy, but appropriate. Malick78 (talk) 18:31, 8 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

No, I don't think so. 'Volosatyj' can also refer to body hair. For example, "hairy legs" is "volosatyje nogi". "Hairy" is a perfectly appropriate translation. 194.226.199.61 (talk) 11:04, 13 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Missing people

edit

In the brief interim period between Stalin and Khrushchev there were two interim Heads of State. First bald Beria, then hairy Malenkov. Thus the sequence goes ...Stalin(hairy)-Beria(bald)-Malnkov(hairy)-Khrushchev(bald)... 41.133.47.225 (talk) 09:27, 20 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Putin's two photos

edit

There should be two different photos of Putin. The first should be a photo of him in 2000 and the second in 2012. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.160.91.217 (talk) 21:33, 5 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Alexander II

Surely he is balding? john k (talk) 13:29, 27 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

That is an unfortunate portrait. Isn't there one of him when he came to the throne? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.133.0.18 (talk) 08:05, 12 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

This is a year after his accession in 1856: link can someone create a crop of it? Robef (talk) 23:00, 12 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Done. Definitely looks much better with that picture. Zell Faze (talk) 16:18, 30 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Could this have a better title...

Chernenko is missing.

edit

Chernenko is missing. That's why pattern is broken after Andropov. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.222.99.106 (talk) 22:35, 30 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

His picture was removed because of copyright concerns, and then he was deleted. I have restored him, with the picture that is used for his article. Apparently the picture is acceptable there, so it should be OK here. If there is no acceptable picture, he shouldn't be deleted because that would break the pattern, as pointed out above.--Jack Upland (talk) 04:43, 31 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
He has now been deleted again. It is irrational to delete him entirely merely because of the picture. Leave the picture off if you must, but don't delete the mention of Chernenko because it breaks the pattern and disappears part of history.--Jack Upland (talk) 17:03, 31 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Jack, I agree. I’ve added him back in sans photo - hopefully he’ll remain this time. Ardeninian (talk) 22:34, 2 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

“most likely”?!

“While this pattern is most likely a coincidence, it has held true since 1825”
