Bangka adalah pulau yang indah beberapa tahun sebelumnya. tapi kini sudah sangat memprihatinkan. banyak sekali lubang-lubang bekas penambangan timah yang dibiarkan begitu saja. harapan saya sebagai warga Bangka agar pemerintah dapat mengambil tindakan yang efektif demi kemajuan profinsi Bangka. Centuries of Dutch occupation in Indonesia, specifically tin mines exploration and exploitation in Bangka Belitung islands did not environmentally ruined these 2 islands of tranquility as much as the damage in the last 2 decades. The hands of authorities do not seems to help save the future, not even the near future.

The tin mines have irretrievably ruined great surface of both inland and offshore of these 2 islands, dumping the formerly proud origin "Muntok White Pepper" which is the finest pepper in the world till to date. The glorious world class pepper for centuries has been left since many of its vegetation plantations are exploited for its quick cash of the tin underneath. The victorious once proud pepper will disappear from the world market, NO OTHER SMELLS & TASTES LIKE MUNTOK WHITE PEPPER, though.

Incorrect Motto shown

The motto is shown as: 'Serumpun Sebalai', but on the logo and on the official website here it says 'Sepintu Sedulang'. I'm guessing this is a cut-and-paste error and will change it within the day unless someone lets me know why not.--Bwmodular 15:59, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Ah, sorry, my mistake - 'Sepintu Sedulang' is the regency motto, not the province. --Bwmodular 17:06, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
