Talk:Battersea Power Station tube station

Name of station in lead

edit

London Underground station articles tend to have the lead sentence as something like "Station name is a London Underground station in specific location, general location." e.g. Nine Elms is a London Underground station in Nine Elms, London. or Swiss Cottage is a London Underground station at Swiss Cottage, north London. The name of this station is Battersea Power Station, as can be seen on station roundels and on the Tube map. Given this, the article follows the common standard for a lead sentence among London Underground articles.

Is it the only station to be called station

edit

I may be ignorant, but on the outside signage - Regent’s Park station is called Regent’s Park station- perhaps clarify that it is the only stop on the tube map with the word station - although I haven’t checked this 81.102.44.161 (talk) 07:08, 11 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Yes, the station officially has the name Battersea Power Station as can be seen on station roundels and on the Tube map. Other stations have the word "station" on the outside signage to indicate that it is a station, but not on roundels or the Tube map - hence the article.
