Magnificent example the coalitions ability

edit

The Battle of Kulm really was a magnificent example the coalitions ability to rebound after very significant defeats. They did this in the spring after such battles of Lutzen and Bautzen. The defeat against the Allies at Dresden was really quite masterful. To be able to rebound so quickly and defeat one the emporer's better generals is quite remarkable. It is significant to not at this juncture that the coalition realized that it was totally unable to defeat Napoleanan himself piecemeal, but they could make progress against his generals. Kulm is represenitive of the Allies strategic move to bring all their forces against him at once by forcing him to try and be everywhere at once. Jak1985 04:43, 30 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

First and second battles of Kulm

edit

I have written a stub for a second battle. The Second Battle of Kulm took place seventeen days after the first one. In the second one the commanders were the Austrian field marshal, Prince of Schwarzenberg and Napoleon. It needs to be expanded, but it appears to be at least as important as this clash (because it involved Napoleon directly).

It might be a good idea to move this article to First Battle of Kulm and put in a dab page here, but if this battle is really more famous than the second one then a hatnote will suffice.

It would also be useful if the links to this article were checked. I have just fixed a link in the article Karl Philipp, Prince of Schwarzenberg so that it links to the second battle, there are bound to be others.

Zanno says - Evidently the Coalition forces suffered no casualties in the battle of Kulm!!! Amazing, really it is.Zanno69 (talk) 07:34, 31 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
