Apologies to the previous author for the complete re-write. I wanted to get the article up before the 200th anniversary. Andrewshobley 09:11, 22 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

A scan of Google Books indicates a few hundred instances of "Battle of Pultusk"; some refer to a battle in 1703 and not necessarily to this 1806 battle. However, "Battle of Pułtusk", the current title, only gives a single Franco-Polish book. Google Scholar offers 16 publications using Pultusk and 1 using Pułtusk. Although the city is known as Pułtusk, the historical battle is known as the Battle of Pultusk, the common name. Olessi (talk) 01:07, 6 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • Although a different concept, the name of the battle derives from the name of the town. The variant without the diacritic, although more common due to the typical unawareness of the existent of the diacritic or simple lack of it in English keyboards, is less accurate than the one with the diacritic.
