I am removing the following line: The first battle followed an attempt at a reform of the federation in 1655, failing due to Catholic resistance. I can find no reference to this reform in any of my books on Swiss history or on the web. RobLandau (talk) 15:25, 19 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

The article says: 'In 1655 the canton of Schwyz, which had elected to remain Catholic in 1531, began prosecuting those Protestant families who had remained in Schwyz.' I assume it means persecuting but the article then talks about trials ... Norvo (talk) 23:29, 16 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
