Renaming article
editI suggest renaming the article for Belarusian democracy movement in late Soviet and post-Soviet periods - to differenciate from the earlier democratic movements and projects, e.g. Belarusian People's Republic. Any thoughts? --Nieszczarda2 (talk) 08:32, 11 April 2021 (UTC)

Belarusian democracy movement → Belarusian opposition – Per WP:COMMONNAME. The name "Belarusian democracy movement" is not much used outside Wikipedia. For example, on Google News there are 9 total results for "Belarusian democracy movement" compared to around 40 just in the last week for "Belarusian opposition". The latter term is commonly used according to Google Ngrams and almost exclusively refers to the subject of this article, whereas the former one doesn't show up. In case there is any need for disambiguation (I think it's clear what the primary topic is for "Belarusian opposition"), the article could be renamed "Belarusian opposition (1988–present)".
