- So maybe since they are knowledgeable maybe they have alot of sources to share. You aren't assuming good faith. PortlandOregon97217 (talk) 08:52, 11 November 2012 (UTC)
Fighters
editI think that there should be a page for all of the Bellator fighters and also on that page the tournament brackets. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Justastud15 (talk • contribs) 15:00, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Fighters & Tournament Brackets
editDo we really need a list of fighters in the tournament and tournament brackets? Wouldn't the brackets be enough and clearly establish who is fighting in each weight class tournament? It seems a bit redundant. Udar55 (talk) 04:09, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
Well, if Bellator does another series of tournaments, there will be more and new fighters. So if you leave it, you can just add the new fighters names to the list. I can change it up a bit from Eliminated in 1st round to Eliminated in 1st Round: Tournament 1. Justastud15 (talk) 19:09, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
Also the "fighters in tournament" gives the country they are from. Justastud15 (talk) 19:10, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
Bellator III & IV
editAfter the airing last night, it showed that Bellator IV was filmed at the same time as Bellator III, they just split the card up accordingly. On TV, they announced this week as Bellator III and next week Bellator IV. I've adjusted the events box accordingly. Udar55 (talk) 17:37, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
Bellator is treating it as two separate events, that is why I think we should make bellator 3 and bellator 4 separate pages. 68.188.29.77 (talk) 06:52, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Season 2
editHow will we work Season 2 of Bellator into this article? 68.188.29.77 (talk) 03:45, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
May 22 show
editSince nothing has been announced for this show, I think it is safe to say they will be doing another "two-fer" like they did with Bellator 3/4 and be showing the other matches from this past Friday. Udar55 (talk) 15:59, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
Well, for this show, since this show is a clip show, I just linked to the "Notes" in Bellator 9 stating that there were not matches filmed for Bellator 8. Udar55 (talk) 14:03, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
WP:LEAD
editAs per WP:LEAD, the lead should specify why it's notable - Spanish and tournament based, obviously, so I put that front and center. It's TV deals are not notable enough to be on the intro line so I shifted that down a little. --Hutcher (talk) 00:46, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
Lombard's Nationality
editWondering why Hector Lombard's nationality is listed as Australian, when he is, in fact, Cuban. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.253.150.120 (talk) 03:13, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
Mainstream coverage of Bellator
editI am not sure where to add the following citation, but it seems important. In the 4 May 2012 issue of Entertainment Weekly, Bellator Fighting Championships was listed as the eighth item on the "The Must List: The Top 10 Things We Love This Week", with the editors noting that it is "Friday-night fights! Get in the ring with some of the best MMA fighters in the world as they kick and punch their way through this weekly televised tournament for a shot at a world title." REFERENCE:"The Must List: The Top 10 Things We Love This Week," Entertainment Weekly 1205 (4 May 2012): 14.
Anyway, that is pretty big for an MMA promotion to make a top ten list in a published print magazine and should be cited somewhere as it really gets to the heart of just how notable that promotion is. --24.112.202.78 (talk) 17:24, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
- The notability of Bellator Fighting Chamionships as a promotion was never in question. Per the WP:MMANOT list of notable organizations Bellator is in the Top Tier of promotions. Without going out and purchasing a copy of Entertainment weekly we don't know how much the promotion was mentioned. The fact that it made the top 10 for "This Week" suggests that they pick new items every single week. This means that in a year there's 520 "Top Things We Love". To be one out of 520 doesn't seem all that mentionable. The fact that it was 8/10 seems to suggest they needed to round out their list with stuff that hadn't been picked recently. As such I'm thinking we not include the quote/reference until we can see what the article said. Hasteur (talk) 22:13, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
Changes from "3rd largest" to "2nd largest"
editAs now 2 IPs have made this change I am taking the initiative to explain my reverts. The reference listed does not claim that Bellator is the 2nd largest or 3rd largest. The only claim the reference makes is
The overall reputation for Bellator's assembly of talent remains far behind UFC, by far the largest and richest organization in the sport. But adding Viacom's financial muscle could help Bellator retain its biggest stars, or at least make it much harder for others to sign them away.
therefore I feel that allowing the article to retain 3rd is the limit of generosity. I note that one of the IPs geolocates to Chicago IL to a Corporate Internet connection (Where Bellator is Headquartered). Hasteur (talk) 12:21, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
Business and establishment
editAny reason there's no section on the business history/establishment of the organization? There are plenty of interviews with Bjorn Rebney out there. --Sgtkabuki (talk) 19:19, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
Confusing description of growth
editIn the introduction it says
- Bellator's exponential growth has now exceeded 140 countries around the world, including [list of countries]
"exponential" feels kinda promotional, but that's not my real issue. What on earth does it mean by "growth has now exceeded 140 countries"? Are these countries where it has staged events? Countries where it's shown on TV? Countries where competitors are from? 131.169.205.122 (talk) 10:43, 30 November 2015 (UTC)

editBellator - is this an abbreviation, acronym or what? Just a random combination of letters that sounds cool?

Sources tag in History
editI removed almost all the unsourced information and sourced what I could source. I am going to remove the tag within the history section. Betanote4 (talk) 16:56, 16 July 2020 (UTC)
