Discussion of improvements to this article

edit

See the message in the tagged talkheader above. This is not a place for parking unsigned comments or long quotations. It is a place to discuss improvements to the article on the subject (the book). If one wants to compose a "Wikiquote" page, one needs to do that in Wikiquote. After creating a "Wikiquote" page, it can be added to the article simply by placing inserting a Wikiquote template (the word "Wikiquote" within two curved brackets on either side). Please sign and date comments. --NYScholar 03:55, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Controversial topic?

edit

I was browsing through the controversial topic category and noticed this article is on here. I also noticed the talk page has a total of three edits, one of which is a minor edit... is this really a controversial issue? .V. [Talk|Email] 02:40, 10 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Controversy can be established by googling for the book name or reading its reviews on Amazon. The Sign of Four 16:56, 15 March 2007 (UTC) The link to the Dershowitz-Finkelstein affair at the bottom of the article gives the quickest explanation on why this is considered a controversial topic. Categories of criticism

edit

Possible categorisations of this book include:

  • Category:Books critical of Israel
  • Category:Books critical of Zionism

either or both depending on content.
I personally interpret the categories as follows:

  • the first category as relating to criticisms of actions of the state of Israel
  • the second category as relating to criticisms of support for the existence of a Jewish homeland.

The book was originally placed in "Category:Books critical of Zionism" and I made the contested decision to move it to "Category:Books critical of Israel". There are "see also" links between the two category pages.
How would the book best be categorised? Gregkaye (talk) 00:18, 14 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
