Bilakura language → Karian language – Pick (2020), the most detailed study on Northern Adelbert languages to date, calls the language Karian, which is what the speakers call themselves. Glottolog calls it Karen. Bilakura is the obsolete name used by Z'graggen (1975, 1980). — Sagotreespirit (talk) 05:17, 1 March 2023 (UTC) — Relisting. - Tentative support. I'm more familiar with 'Bilakura', but the language is so obscure that familiarity probably shouldn't be a factor. 'Bilakura' is unambiguous, whereas both 'Karian' and 'Karen' are ambiguous, and I'd prefer to avoid ambiguous language names. 'Bilakura' is also the ISO name, but Glotto calls it both 'Karen' (itself) and 'Karian' (the family), ELP calls it 'Karian', and Usher uses both, following his sources, but defaults to 'Karian'. — kwami (talk) 23:56, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
