Common name should be just "Agouti"

- There are many agouti species, not just this one (which isn't found in Central America). I presume you are talking about Louise Emmons's Neotropical Rainforest Mammals and she uses red-rumped agouti, as do virtually all other books that include Dasyprocta leporina.
