Name
edit"Brigade I" is a pretty awkward name/phrasing. The general formulation in these cases seems to be "First Brigade of..." or "1st Brigade of..." Volunteer Marek (talk) 06:54, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
Requested move
editBrigade I of the Polish Legions → 1st Brigade of the Polish Legions – "1st" or "First" rather than the Roman numeral "I" is inline with other first brigades in 1st Brigade list. Also currently, it's easy to misread it as "Brigade ay".Volunteer Marek (talk) 08:03, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
- Not opposing, but there is also Brigade II of the Polish Legions and Brigade III of the Polish Legions. As consistency is one of the key principles of article titling, I would suggest moving all three, or moving none. Jenks24 (talk) 08:11, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks. All three should be moved.Volunteer Marek (talk) 08:25, 10 August 2011 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: moved to 1st Brigade, Polish Legions, etc. There was consensus to move, but opinions were weakly divided between the original nomination and this one. I chose this one based on Necrothesp's point that it is slightly more intuitive English. Furthermore, looking at the disambiguation page 1st Brigade, the only ones that are named as part of larger units are the American ones, and they use the "comma-separated" notation. I don't feel strongly about this, but the discussion needed to be closed. Favonian (talk) 12:37, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
- Brigade I of the Polish Legions → 1st Brigade of the Polish Legions
- Brigade II of the Polish Legions → 2nd Brigade of the Polish Legions
- Brigade III of the Polish Legions → 3rd Brigade of the Polish Legions
– See rationale given above. Also see 2nd Brigade and 3rd Brigade for other relevant examples. Volunteer Marek (talk) 08:34, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
- Move to 1st Brigade, Polish Legions etc, which is more intuitive English and the way such a unit notation would usually be written in English-speaking countries. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:04, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
- Personally, I'd be fine with that too.Volunteer Marek (talk) 17:21, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
- Either is fine. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 20:43, 10 August 2011 (UTC)

- With regard to these searches - most sources which deal with the subject are going to be fairly specialized and are likely to just use "1st Brigade", since the "Polish Legions" part would be implied and there'd be no ambiguity as to which brigade is being referred to (unlike in an encyclopedia such as this one). Still I guess this is some indication that "1st Brigade of the Polish Legions" would be the best title. Volunteer Marek (talk) 18:14, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
- Support. Prefer Marek's original proposal, but Necrothesp's alternative would also be acceptable. Jenks24 (talk) 17:47, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
- Support. Reasonable proposal. - Darwinek (talk) 18:37, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
