Kathy Boudin

edit

The article is being broken off from Kathy Boudin and is temporarily duplicated there. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) 04:35, 23 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Edward O'Grady II has closed with consensus that Edward O'Grady should be merged here; this article already has info on the subject. Please merge any remaining information from [[1]]. Thanks. Quarl (talk) 2006-12-28 10:39Z

Apostrophe

edit

"Brink's" should have an apostrophe; seems like no big deal, but it IS the title. I can't figure ou how to do it, as the wiki doesn't seem to recognize the difference when I go to start a "new" article by copying this one. Sfahey 07:32, 1 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

First or Second?

edit

Was Wverly Brown the first or the second black on the Nyack police force? Both are claimed here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.228.85.52 (talk) 15:56, 28 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Merger proposal

edit

Request received to merge articles: Edward O'Grady II and Waverly Brown into Brink's robbery (1981); dated July 2016. Discussion here. Richard3120 (talk) 22:33, 4 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

---Don't see the point in merging; one article is a description of an event and the other two articles are separate bios of deceased person(s). At least seven of the robbery participants involved in this event have separate articles. Seems that the Brinks, O'Grady and Brown articles address different and distinct subjects. Or merge all 9 biographical articles into this event article, to be consistent? Merging seems like a mistake. Mdukas (talk) 23:10, 28 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Who is Smith?

edit
The vehicle, driven by Samuel and Nathanial Burns, fled from the police when they tried to pull it over. After the vehicle crashed, the two occupants engaged the police in a gunfight that left Smith dead and Odinga captured. Inside Smith's shirt pocket, police found a crushed .38 caliber slug they believe was fired from officer O'Grady's service weapon.

Who is Smith? Not mentioned before or after. Also, who is Samuel? Burns is Odinga, I got that much, although not clear from this prose. 69.124.61.232 (talk) 10:55, 15 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for pointing out the inconsistent use of surnames, and the stray reference to Sundiata by his former first name. I made edits to render the article's use of names consistent with the lede. The participants who used adopted African names are so identified throughout; their birth names are given in their respective individual articles, or, if not the subject of a separate article, then once in parentheses here.PDGPA (talk) 19:51, 29 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
I am not sure what happened here but this is not the case as of my posting, such as Odinga being referred to as Burns. This article probably needs a real going over by someone who knows the subject for such little things. SP00KYtalk
