editThis page should not be speedily deleted because Sura was the first Roman commander to succesfully fight the forces of Mithridates the Great. It was the first time the Pontics were defeated by the Romans and it marked a change. From that moment on the scales started to tip.
- Odd then I can find almost no references to this notable person.Slatersteven (talk) 13:29, 31 July 2018 (UTC)
- Now found a few passing references, nothing that indicate any real notability, one sentence mentions. And nothing that says this was the first defeat of Mithridates the great.Slatersteven (talk) 13:37, 31 July 2018 (UTC)
- Also your dates seem wrong, Sura defeated the forces of Archeelaus in 86BC in Boeotia. The only sea battle I can find was not commanded by Sura (Tenedos (86bc). I am getting a strong OR smell here.Slatersteven (talk) 13:42, 31 July 2018 (UTC)
