editThe text of this page seems to have been copied from [1], a U.S. Congress website. As such, I believe the text is in the public domain. It does need to be wikified, though. RSpeer 01:15, September 7, 2005 (UTC)

Requested move 9 April 2018
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: consensus to move the pages as proposed, per the discussion below. Also, all links to Chris Perkins that intended the footballer have been repiped to the new title, and the plain title has been redirected to the game designer with a redirect hatnote applied to that page; and the disambiguation page at Christopher Perkins has been updated to reflect the changes. - Carl C. Perkins → Chris Perkins (politician)
- Chris Perkins → Chris Perkins (footballer)
- Christopher Perkins (game designer) → Chris Perkins (game designer)
– Regarding Carl C. "Chris" Perkins the politician: He was more commonly known as "Chris" rather than "Carl" during and after his political career.
- A google search of "Carl C. Perkins" Kentucky congress returns only 4k results to "Chris Perkins" Kentucky congress returning nearly 18k.
- This 2005 story by the Associated Press refers to him as "Rev. Chris Perkins."
- Even the United States Department of Justice made sure to refer to him as Carl "Chris" Perkins for this announcement of his guilty plea during the House banking scandal.
- The Courier-Journal in Louisville, Kentucky used "Rep. Chris Perkins" in news coverage during his career consistently, whether in 1984 [2], 1988 [3], 1990 [4], or 1992 [5].
Regarding Chris Perkins the English footballer:
- Because the American politician commonly known as Chris Perkins was involved in one of the biggest political scandals in American history, I doubt that an obscure yet longtime English footballer deserves to be the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. So I propose redirecting Chris Perkins to disambiguation page Christopher Perkins.
Regarding Chris Perkins the game designer:
- "Chris" seems to be the more common name based on my google search of "Chris Perkins" returning multiple results that refer to him as "Chris" like the Dungeons & Dragons website [6], this 2017 interview with Forbes, or this 2016 "Ask Me Anything" he had on Reddit. On Twitter, his name is "Christopher Perkins" yet his handle is @ChrisPerkinsDnD, indicating he is OK going by "Chris". Arbor to SJ (talk) 02:01, 9 April 2018 (UTC)
- Support. A pageview analysis suggests that the game designer should be primary topic. Nine Zulu queens (talk) 07:39, 9 April 2018 (UTC)
- Support per detailed nomination. No obvious primary topic for either Christopher Perkins or Chris Perkins. Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 06:38, 10 April 2018 (UTC)
